I am a freelance artist and independent illustrator known as John Yume. I've been working with clients and as an illustrator in artist alley in Texas for over 10 years. I graduated with a degree focused on game design art and is my not-so-secret dream job. I recently have been doing a lot of Twitch related art. I moved to the beautiful desert of Arizona where I enjoy walks, memes, puns, streaming, gaming, and role playing.
One of the favorite parts of my work is bringing life to concepts and creating designs for my clients. Whether I have very specific instructions or given nebulous ideas, I try to figure out what people are looking for. When given a lot of freedom my favorite thing to do more outlandish and creative designs. I like working from stories or making up stories as I work to direct the art I do. Been loving working on emotes as I put a lot of thought into how they'll be used to communicate. Design challenges are my favorite puzzles.
Accomplishments:
2017 - Commissioned to create the official San Japan event art featured through their pop culture convention.
2015 - Creating 3 winning art pieces for San Japan's 2015 contest, including their grand prize.
2015 - My art being featured on The Game Awards 2015.
2011 - Creating the official promotional and event art for Oni-Con's 2011 pop culture convention.
I am searching for a change in career. While I love what I currently do, I want more consistent work where I can use the skills I have in game design and expand them. If you're in need of a colorful, passionate, wholesome person who draws derpy doodles I'm your man!
