Emote Design and Pixel art

Sampling of the emotes, their designs, and pixel art. I work with each client to know their needs and wants for their emotes. I take careful consideration for how these emotes could be used to communicate emotions in their communities and, if desired, to be as versatile in their communication as possible. I create several concepts of each emote in PaintToolSai and then create a finalized concept based on the client's feedback.

Once approved by the client, I switch to the production of the emotes creating fully rendered emote art at large scale in PaintToolSai. Then I create 3 difference sizes for the emote as png: 112 x 112 px, 56 x 56 px, 28 x 28 px, or smaller for badges: 72 x 72 px, 36 x 36 px, 18 x 18 px, using Photoshop. Then I use Aseprite to clean up pixels and make sure each emote is legible at every size. I check and recheck the progress of pixel art to make sure they read on both light and dark backgrounds.
